iVillage Weekly Top 10: Conflict-Free Diamonds

Celebrating Nature
From New York-based jewelry designer Megan Steer's company Lura Jewelry, this sterling silver Tree of Life Ring is from her "The Vision and the Garden" collection. Featuring three burnished set conflict-free diamonds, the cigar band ring celebrates the Earth with its etched leaf and spiral design.

Shining example: The Kimberly Process Scheme (KPS) was put into effect in 2003 as an international effort to stop conflict diamonds from entering the legitimate diamond trace. This extensive screening and certification process has practically ended the diamond violence; it's estimated that less than one percent of diamonds can be classified as conflict today.

The Diamond Tree of Life Ring is $380 at LuraJewelry.net.
