Do's & Don'ts of Wearing, Caring for & Buying Vintage
- Check the seams, lining and fabric for wear, tear and stains before you buy, as most vintage places have a no-return policy.
- Flip the seasons for the best vintage bargains. You're likely to score better deals on winter stock at the start of the spring season, and vice versa.
- To ensure the authenticity of a designer garment, look for signature details, such as how the label is applied (it should be sewn on, not taped or sealed with glue), the stitching, the lining, the overall quality, the fit and the style. If you suspect it's a fake, don't buy it!
