"The golden rule for handbags continues to be: the bigger, the better and that golden rule is golden—metallics are now officially a neutral," says Jason Jobson, fashion publicist and editor-in-chief of The Fashion Rag. He asserts that everyone should have a gold or silver bag in their collection.

"One more thing: Always mix it up," he continues. "Buy a great evening bag and rock it during the day." Nothing is cooler than a dressy bag with heels, jeans and a great knit or tee.
