Berries are loaded with vitamin C, folate, fiber and phytonutrients. Indeed, fresh berries are among the most powerful disease-fighting foods available. They're also filling, provided you pair them with protein or good fats. Here are a few snack ideas.

  • Top a high-protein vanilla Greek yogurt with 1 cup of microwaved berries and top with a little reduced fat Reddi Whip (Tip: Freeze the yogurt for an hour first).
  • Add 1 cup of berries to a high-protein cereal with skim or soy milk.
  • Top a plain Greek yogurt with 1 cup of mixed berries and a handful of nuts for an ideal, balanced breakfast.
  • Create your own trail mix with freeze-dried berries and raw almonds or walnuts.
