Cut Costs, Not Nutrition
Plan Ahead
Plan Ahead
It's simple! Make a list. Doing this allows you to avoid impulse purchases that rack up the costs but not necessarily the nutrition. Write down nutritionally dense foods to avoid scouring the shelves for Oreos and Lay's, or anything else your growling tummy desires. Nutritionally dense foods are foods that are high in vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, essential fatty acids, fiber for the number of calories they have. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and lean meats are nutritionally dense foods.
