Kim Basinger and a group of investors bought the town of Braselton, Georgia for $20 million, just around the time Kim dropped out of the movie Boxing Helena and was sued for more than $8 million for breach of contract. Unable to pay the bills, Kim filed for bankruptcy and sold off her investment in the tiny town (population 1,206 in 2000).
