Furniture designer Aidan was everything Mr. Big wasn't—sensitive, attentive and ready to settle down with Carrie. She could never get past her feelings for Big, however, which led to two big break-ups with Aidan. The first one came after she admitted to Aidan, on Charlotte's wedding day, that she and the married Big had been carrying on an affair. After time apart, Carrie managed to win Aidan's trust again, but when he proposed and she rejected him, he was so angry that he moved out of her apartment (which he owned) and served her with an eviction notice. He later married a fellow furniture designer and had a son named Tate (who was played by Sarah Jessica Parker's real-life son, James Wilke).
