Speaking of Ellen DeGeneres, she had a meltdown of her own last year on her daily talk show, thanks to Iggygate. DeGeneres and her new girlfriend, Portia de Rossi, had adopted a dog who didn't get along with their cats. They spent $3,000 trying to train the pooch, Iggy, to get along, and when that failed, they gave the pup to Ellen's hairdresser and her children. So where did the Emmy winner go barking up the wrong tree? The doggy adoption agency where Ellen and Portia got the dog apparently forbade them, in a contract they'd signed, from giving him away, and took the dog back from the children who'd bonded with the dog. As Ellen explained the sad sitch on her Oct. 2007 show, she began sobbing, and later would have to cancel the taping of her next show.
