You can't get too much vitamin D from sun exposure, but it is possible to overdose on supplements. The difference is that once your body absorbs enough sun-generated vitamin D, it stops absorbing it. But if you continue to exceed the daily recommended supplement limits (1,000 IU for infants, 2,000 IU for everyone else), you risk toxicity, which can cause kidney stones, dehydration, confusion and even heart problems. So remember: All things in moderation!
