"By the time I was about six years old, psoriasis covered 80 percent of my body," LeAnn recalls. "I've dealt with it my whole life and tried several different treatments. We have many medical advances, thank goodness, and I've finally found a great dermatologist and the right treatment for me. I've been clear for about four and half a years."
The symptoms of psoriasis include:
- Red patches of skin covered with white or silvery scales
- Dry, cracked skin that may bleed
- Itching, burning or soreness
- Thickened, pitted or ridged nails
- Swollen and stiff joints (if psoriatic arthritis is involved)
