According to the NPD Group, a research firm, $835 million is spent on school uniforms each year. While some parents champion the growing popularity of uniforms, others are not so pleased. Some disgruntled parents have recently gone so far as to file lawsuits in Illinois, New Jersey and California, demanding that uniforms be banned from public schools.
