Real Weddings: Ferns and Trees

Posh Petals
I feel strongly that the bridal flowers are the ultimate accessory to the bride. Because the Botanical Gardens are the setting, it seems fitting that the bride's bouquet include a plant considered to be collectible, hence the lady slipper orchids. And it is always nice to have something slightly fragrant, hence the inimitable sweet pea. Rounding it out are ranunculas and star of Bethlehem, which provide nice little punches of color and seem almost like buttons. Moss green velvet ribbon wraps the stems in a cris-cross, leaving them partly exposed. But truly to set this bouquet apart we pulled from the wildness of the gardens and added a fringe of kiwi vine left to sprawl, so the effect is composed and elegant at top, becoming looser and more "wild" at the bottom.
