I often leave the cake design for the latter part of the design process as it often encompasses so many of the wedding details. Pat Rutherford-Pettine from Sugaree Baking Company right in St.Louis is one of our favorite bakers. A character and a real talent, Pat must have endured fifteen or more cake design suggestions before we finally settled on the obvious and used the paper pattern from the invitation. The cake was an elegant tower of buttercream and fondant. Feminine and sophisticated at the same time--just right.
