The papery for a wedding is the first and last formal communication your guests receive; the first being your save-the-date card or invitation, the last being your thank you note for their wedding gift. For the invitation we collaborated with my talented friend Karen Bartolomei from
Grapevine Weddings in Boston to create something fabulous. We came up with the idea of having the invitation "pocket" open on a square diagonal with the bride's initials on a die cut circle that slid together at the center. The paper for the outer "pocket" was letter-press printed in two colors of custom mixed pink, in a decorative, Florentine-inspired grapevine pattern designed by Karen. The invitation inside was a heavy cream-colored card engraved in pink and metallic gold, on the diagonal, and again letter-press printed with the same Florentine-inspired grapevine motif.
